Tabiano Terme, besides being a famous resort for its thermal baths and for the treatment of numerous respiratory pathologies, ahs also the advantage of being in the centre of Parma district, one of the most interesting Emilia regions for its story, culture and gastronomy.

In the surroundings it's important to point out Soragna stronghold, with frescos and period furniture, Fontanellato stronghold, surrounded by a deep moat with water and richly furnished with many Parmigianino's works, the impressive Bardi fort and the castles of Torrechiara, Compiano, Montechiarugolo, besides Tabiano castle, a private property. The duchy palace of Colorno is also of great interest, venue of important exhibitions and now seat of the "international school of cooking" directed by Gualtiero Marchesi.


From Tabiano it's possible to easily reach cities of great historical, artistical and cultural relevance, as Parma, Pavia, Mantova, Sabbioneta.

Busseto, Villa S. Agata and Roncole Verdi are worth a chapter apart, destination of a sort of musical pilgrimage for all those who love Maestro Giuseppe Verdi and the opera music. The hometown of the great composer is always promoter of many artistical and cultural (not only musical) initiatives. Recently the town housed the Verdi 2001 exhibition, a celebration of the centenary of the famous composer's death.

From Tabiano there are three itineraries that can bring the visitor to discover places of great interest in our district: the journeys that go along the Appennino, the hills and the plain around Parma, the nearest to the Po river.
The Appennino itinerary covers a trip not much frequented, but it comprises almost all the important towns of our mountains. Besides the already mentioned castles of Bardi and Compiano, it's possible to visit the towns of Berceto and Corniglio, travelling through centuries old woods towards the far plain.
The hills itinerary has a strong oenogastronomic connotation: in fact this zone is, for centuries, the source of the most known typical products of Parma district. Here is born the Parmigiano Reggiano; here, among Sala Baganza, Felino, Collecchio, the famous Parma ham is produced and matured, and in the area of the Po river there is the Culatello di Zibello, the king of salami: all made to bring the quality of our products on the tables of all the world.

Not far from Tabiano you will find the Parma fair, famed for its international exposures, as the "Mercanteinfiera" and the "Cibus".

The near Salsomaggiore Terme, seat of the Congress Hall, houses meetings, conferences and international meetings as the bridge championship and, in September, it offers the opportunity of a stay characterized by the beauty. The election of Miss Italy is always a followed event in all the district and each year it attracts many tourists, fans and curious that crowd Salsomaggiore searching for a miss' smile. Each day the candidates for the title parade in front of the Berzieri Thermae to present to photographers and supporters. The golf courses are the destination of many golf lovers and important golf tournaments.
